Being in the business of muscle business for decades I have come across the question; What are the best muscle building exercises so many times that I stopped counting a long time ago. Amateur body builders just setting out to realize their dream of a perfect physique and ovr all health will be in a bit of a hurry to get to their goal. Some may not be in a hurry but ask questions just the same in order to get it right the first time and save on some. So lets get down to answering the question; What are the best muscle building exercises is there is any ‘right’ answer.
To begin with lets keep off the topic of drugs and short cut methods a lot of people have used only to develop unhealthy lifestyles and physiques that are nothing more than ‘out of proportion’ and in many cases downright ugly to look at. Take for example Gregg Valentino’s biceps. He is credited with having the largest biceps in the world but these are grossly out of proportion with the rest of his body. No one I know in the industry ever wants to look like that.
So lets keep it clean and straight forward. First of all one must know the different techniques of muscle building. There are the isolation techniques and the compound techniques. Then there are the free weights and the machines. After deciding which are best suited for you go for the kill and give it a lot of patience never expecting any change for days.
To build an over all physique one must develop a routine. Work out every day six days a week giving yourself one day off on the week end or any day of your choice. Work muscle groups alternately. I suggest working your arms, back and legs one day and your stomach and shoulders the next. Make a list of exercises for both muscle groups and keep changing the exercises every three weeks. Muscle groups get pretty used to an exercise routing and stop responding to them after about four weeks. So, changing the type of exercise is important.
It is always good to use the good old free weights as opposed to the machines of today. Use the machines by all means but do a lot of exercise with free weights. The bench press is the tried and tested exercise to build massive chest and shoulders so stick with them. The lats must also be developed and if you want your lats to blow up like balloons I suggest a pushup with 30 pound in the sitting position behind the head. Make that 3 sets of 15 reps each. Results will begin to show within 3 weeks.
So far as the abdominal muscles are concerned these are the easiest to corrupt and the toughest to develop. So give special attention to the rectus abdominus muscles – the four brick shaped muscles that cover the stomach. Proper diet bust accompany any exercise routing And if you are still thinking what are the best muscle building exercises I suggest three sets of fifteen reps of each exercise viz – the bench press with weights that do not tire you out before the sets are over; push-ups in front and behind the neck, barbell curls (both with wrists facing up and down); leg curls for the thigh and the biceps of the leg; Squats with barbells; and of course heel raises.
It is not possible to list all the exercises in one article but this is just the beginning. Come back for more detailed instructions on each exercise and you will get all the answers you need and the results you so desire!
