There is an erroneous assumption that women are not interested in body building. The stereotype is to assume that this sort of activity is not like the habits that are expected of a lady. However things are changing and ladies can now go for things that were previously outside their remit. There is a greater emphasis on the things that work for women and they feel empowered to get real results from the things that they attempt. Nutrition is one of the elements that they might have in terms of the program of getting to the body shape that they prefer. The rudiment of women health care protocols means that there has to be recognition of the desires and the possibilities that women face in general.

Issues that women might address in the body building nutrition program

Women have to make a decision as to whether the gain of muscle is better than body shape. There are certain situations whereby the body image of the women might demand that they do not gain muscle. This is seen as something that is not entirely within the means of the woman. However there is plenty of scope to get the best results out of the nutritional programs. The women health tips have to concentrate on giving women choices in the way that they handle their aspirations towards an ideal body shape.

There a school of thought that says that women need to eat more food and to eat the food more often in order to get to their objectives of muscles. However this is not just about eating lots of food. There has to be a selective list of items which concentrate on the muscle construction. For example proteins will be the main food item that they need in order to build the body cells. The idea of gorging on all sorts of unsuitable foods might create health problems that are very difficult to deal with in the long run. It is better to be cautious about the way that the food is handled and the regimes that the women follow.

There are some specific foods that are recommended including milk, cottage cheese and eggs. There is also the consideration of energy because the women will need energy in order to exercise. Therefore carbohydrates should not be completely ruled out of the diet. The vitamins will be required to boost the immune system and to keep diseases away. The foods that are typically consumed included whole meal grains, potatoes, pasta and rice. Where the women cannot get all the nutrients in the natural form then it might be a good idea to look at supplements.

The diet program has to go hand in hand with a training program. Cardio training is for general endurance while weight training will help to bulk up the muscles. The women should really take care to ensure that they do not end up looking masculine as that might harm them socially. At the same time the choices that they make should not be restricted by male chauvinism.

Whether you are new to bodybuilding or a seasoned veteran, there are certain things every bodybuilder needs to know. Not only is it important to have great posture and form when working out, it is equally important what is done between workouts to help the muscles grow and recover properly.

Here are 5 tips every bodybuilder should know:

Tip 1: Safety

Getting big muscles fast is something almost every bodybuilder wants to see happen but there are safety precautions to take to make sure you aren’t injuring yourself. Stretching or warming up a bit before a workout prevents muscles from tearing and becoming damaged. It is equally important to make sure you have a spotter with you when working with free weights because these weights are very heavy and they are there to help protect you should something go wrong.

Tip 2: Pace

Muscle building workouts are all about heavy weights and pushing past your limits. While this is how muscle mass is built, doing too much at once is counter productive. Keeping workouts limited in time and only working two muscle groups a day will allow the muscles time to recover because it is during the recovery phase where the growth occurs. Not allowing the muscles to properly rest will slow down the growth and your results.

Tip 3: Nutrition

Because a bodybuilder is pushing their body past normal limits, the body will use up vital nutrients faster than normal. Without all of the needed nutrients such as protein and carbohydrates, the end results of intense workouts will be lessened. Eating healthy foods that are high in protein and caborhydrates is very important to making sure the body is prepared for each workout.

Tip 4: Posture

Each exercise performed has a specific posture that is very important to the success of the workout as well as the protection and safety of the bodybuilder. Be sure to know the proper posture for each and every exercise you do before you do it with the heavy weights. This will make sure you get the most from the workout while ensuring that your body is protected from injury.

Tip 5: Breathing

Breathing is an integral part of every workout. There are specific times to inhale and times to exhale. Knowing when this is to be done for each exercise, whether it be inhaling on the down phase and exhaling on the up phase goes a long way to getting the most from each workout.

Above all else, knowing exactly what your goals are may be one of the most important tips you can ever receive as a bodybuilder. Without goals, your drive to continue your muscle building workouts may fade over time. Keep an eye on your goals and never give up on them.

One of the best ways to build muscle fast and accomplish your goal of building mass in your body is by getting a mentor. There are so many people men and women that have reached their goals of building muscle mass. Some of the best body building tips can be found in your local gym from the people that have built mass already.

Some of the best tips are the little techniques suggestions from these mentors that are not something you can read in a book because it was something discovered by actually doing it.

As an exampel when you are seriously body building, proportion is so important. Many people overlook their calf muscles because they are so small. More often than not, the calf muscles are difficult to notice as well. But, the calves are just as important as any other muscle in your body. Don’t neglect those calf muscles and work them to their fullest potential. Use wide and narrow stances when lifting to hone the calf muscles.

One of the body building tips I learned was for my deltoids. It is an important area of the body to workout out because the deltoids really help balance to look of the upper body. A great exercise for the deltoids is to do lateral raises. It is natural to want to lean slightly backwards when doing this exercise, but if you do it leaning slightly forward, you will find you get much better results.

Another great tip I learned from a mentor was the importance of supplmenting with a protein powder. Not only when and where and how to take it but which supplement was going to be best for my goals and body type. Unfortantely you can’t learn this from books as this is learned by trying different things out and figuring out what works.

Another great way to gain more body building tips is to workout with a training partner as you will find their motivation will help you move beyond your personal limitations, so that you gain more out of your workout, but often your training partner has learned some small things that you may not know to improve your training regime.

Some of the best body building tips around learned around nutrition. Often you mentor or training partner may have shortcuts to getting better muscle building results, like how many smaller meals to eat, how much should you drink, what supplements to take and how much protein to eat in between workouts and with each meal.

By having a body building mentor or a training partner you will find that the body building tips they offer help you gain a lot of perspective in what you are doing wrong and right in your workout so that you can get more out of your workouts and get to your goals even faster.

[ Editor's Note: Fitness author Jon Benson shared this letter with me and gave me permission to share it with you. ]

If I had to pick out the number one reason most people fail to achieve good results in the gym, guess what it would be?

Over-training. Exercising too much.

Sounds counter-intuitive, but trust me: It’s quite real.

Folks write to me all the time and say…

“Jon, I don’t get it. I cannot lose bodyfat and I’m running six days a week for an hour and training in the gym five days a week for 45 minutes!”

My answer back is usually:

“You are training 4x more than me, and I’m a fitness pro!”

Look, do you take 21 aspirin for a headache, thinking the more you take the faster your pain will go away?

No?

So why apply the same logic to fitness? Only a certain amount is required. Beyond that, you are spinning your wheels.

When I wrote 7 Minute Muscle (available here) I exposed all the lies about training too long and why this is not the best way to achieve the results you want. Check it out if you want the facts.

One more thing: 75% of your progress will come in the kitchen, not in the gym or on the treadmill.

As for me, I would much rather eat smart and train less than train all the time and be forced to eat 6-8 times a day just to recover from it all.

That makes no sense to me at all.

You?
